UK DSA Launches New Website and Integrated Social Media
The UK DSA held a Social Media Seminar on September 28 2011 which was a ‘sell-out’ event, said UK DSA Director General Paul Southworth. He explained that the seminar had been organised in response to many requests from members who were keen to learn more about the commercial opportunities that social media could bring them.
The seminar was held by kind invitation of Amway at their prestigious Flagship Experience Centre in London and was attended by DSA Members from across the UK.
The new DSA Website which was designed by Cygnus Associates was launched and presented to the members by Kathy Slater of the DSA, who also demonstrated how the UK DSA social media sites are fully integrated with the website. Greg Harvey of Cygnus Associates then went on to talk about how to analyse the website traffic statistics via Google Analytics. Greg also gave the audience tips on how to commission a website, covering the critical key points from placing a tender document to delivery of a completed site.
The Member Company speakers who spoke openly and gave freely of their time included Michael Khatkar of Kleeneze who passionately extolled the benefits of using Twitter, and Melanie Nash of NYRO who shared her ideas on managing a Lifestyle Blog and Company Facebook. Zoe Cooper and Alyson Devoy of Cambridge Weight Plan shared their findings and experiences on running a Web Forum; they were followed by Andy Smith of Amway who demonstrated how Amway now recruits some of their Distributors via a YouTube link! The final speaker was Steve Jones of HBS who presented on Cloud Communication and ‘Innovating Business Growth’ – “so a full, informative and rewarding day,” said Paul Southworth. “We will as an association continue to organise seminars which meet the needs of, and bring value to our membership.”
