Editors Note
November 2011
Editor’s Note
Dear Readers,
Welcome to the November edition of Direct Selling News Europe.
The year seems to have flown by, and here we are well into the 4th Quarter and with autumn most definitely here!
The recession continues to affect us all across the region, although as always in difficult economic times direct selling companies continue to report an increase in their recruitment figures, as many people look to supplement their income or indeed work full-time in the industry.
In this month’s edition we feature Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic (NYRO) in our Company Focus section. Neal’s Yard, as a direct selling business, was founded three years ago and quickly established their own unique business model as well as a determination to live by their philosophy and values; it truly is a fascinating story.
Over in Supplier Corner we hear about a successful entry into Europe from VideoPlus. Marinda Chaplin, Vice President, VideoPlus Europe tells us how she is enjoying working in a European culture as well as establishing a successful business.
Industry News brings us new products from Nikken, an update on a ‘Super Rally’ from Forever Living Products UK, as well as a briefing from Seldia. We have photographs and an update from the WFDSA Istanbul Conference, and a report on the launch of the UK DSA website and social media sites.
Sadly, this is the last edition of Direct Selling News Europe and I would like to thank you all for contributing articles, providing feedback and sharing updates since Paul Southworth and myself started the magazine some three years ago. I would also like to thank all our journalists who have written so many high-quality articles for us, especially Judith Wojtowicz, who has been with us since our very first edition.
We have published the magazine in many formats and now our parent company Direct Selling News, based in the US, have taken the decision to include all direct selling updates and news from Europe in their global website which will be launched shortly. You can also access DSN online by visiting http://www.directsellingnews.com or by subscribing to their hard copy magazine; details can be found on the website.
For the future, I wish you huge success in your direct selling businesses across Europe and also fulfilment and happiness in your personal aspirations.
