Editors Note

November 2009

WELCOME to our November edition, bringing you all the latest news from Europe

Paul SouthworthDear readers,

Amazingly this is our final edition of 2009, proving how time flies when you are having fun! Certainly the team here at Direct Selling News Europe have thoroughly enjoyed compiling all our editions throughout the year and offer our grateful thanks to all our contributors.

Judging from the feedback of our readers, it would seem you believe the magazine continues to improve both in content and design, and we thank you for all your kind and constructive comments. Please keep sending us your views, we enjoy receiving them and it helps us to maintain the content and standards you
desire. Our objective remains the same, to deliver to you a magazine that is meaningful, credible and full of up to date information on our industry in Europe.

In this, our final edition of the year, our Country Focus is on Romania, one of the lesser known markets and yet one that is thriving, with much promise for the future.

Our Company Spotlight falls on JAFRA and their European activities and now as a part of the famous German company Vorwerk, they continue to produce quality product for the direct selling market.

Autumn is the traditional time for many company conferences, and here we report on a selection of those events. These conferences highlighting again, the importance of bringing the sales force together to demonstrate teamwork, and give opportunities for motivation and recognition.

Please take time to review our Supplier Corner and the Vendor Directory at the back of the magazine.

Our suppliers to the industry continue to perform an excellent service and should be supported by us, as they understand the unique requirements of direct sales.

Finally you may remember in our July edition, we ran an article called the ‘Billion Dollar Club’ covering top global companies whose turnover exceeded one billion dollars.

Well the team at Direct Selling News, US have done an incredible amount of research and taken this one step further by listing those companies whose turnover exceeds 100 million dollars. Over 60 companies fall into this category and if you wish to review them, then log on to http://www.directsellingnews.com, click on Europe where you can access the data.

Now I know this may seem a little early, but as our next edition does not arrive until January, let us be the first to wish you all a very happy Christmas season and a prosperous New Year.

Enjoy your read!
